ABOUT US
Kwik Shop is one of EG America’s convenience and retail brands with more than 110 store locations across Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska.
Our History
Dick Dillon, founder of Dillon Stores, developed the Kwik Shop convenience store concept by combining the time-saving personalized service of a small store with supermarket efficiency in management, inventory control, and merchandising. The first Kwik Shop opened in 1960 in Hutchinson, Kansas and by the end of the decade, the convenience store chain had expanded into three state markets – Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. Over the years the business grew, expanding its offerings to include self-service gasoline and food services. Dillon Companies, Inc. and Kwik Shop merged with Kroger in 1983 to become the largest food retailer in the United States. EG Group then acquired Kroger's convenience store business in 2018, adding Kwik Shop to its portfolio of convenience store brands as part of its US operations.
